I think he did something brilliant. He worked on wheat breeding at International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center and it was credited with boosting yields by more than 200 million tons. Thanks to this work, the poor all around the world might overcome their hunger. So I can't say anymore that he won the World Food Prize in 2014.

< Can the Poor Pull Themselves Out of Poverty? >
This article is about a round table discussion during the White House Summit on Working Families on 23 June 2014 with Barack Obama, the USA president. It was held to debate about solutions of curing world poverty problem and in this dicussion some of them focused on how the poor overcome themselves.
John Hope Bryant, an entrepreneur and founder of the nonprofit Operation HOPE, says the poor see the cost of education but not the payoff and are served by a financial system that hands them high fees but few loans. When I saw his words at first, I just think he blamed the poor but he didn't. He insisted that the proble the poor can't improve their life quality is because of the now financial system. After I understand the point of his words, I couldm;t agree more him. If the government and many companies plan the financial system for the poor to decrease their burden, the poor will overcome themselves enough.
